Since 2002 the Northwest potato industry has faced a series of three major insect pests that it had not hitherto dealt with: beet leafhopper (which transmits the phytoplasma that causes purple top disease), potato tuberworm, and potato psyllid (which transmits the bacterium that causes zebra chip). Below are links to documents that explain how to recognize these insects and to monitor their populations using traps.
